A 22-year-old woman, Shawgar Rasul Hama, from Blackburn, tragically passed away at Wythenshawe Hospital in Greater Manchester after sustaining severe burns. The incident, where she set herself on fire, led to her admission to the hospital’s specialized burns unit. Area Coroner Kate Bisset disclosed the details during a preliminary inquest at Preston Coroners’ Court, confirming the cause of death. Miss Hama, born in Iraq in 2003 and residing at Greenhurst Close in Blackburn, was formally identified at the hospital by authorities using her medical wristband. The court adjourned the proceedings after the initial statements, scheduling a final inquest on October 2 at Accrington Town Hall under the supervision of Ms. Bisset.
