A young married couple was laid to rest together after tragically passing away just days apart. Adam Hencek, 23, unexpectedly died at their home on a Tuesday evening, followed shortly by his husband, Tomas Feuller, 25. The couple’s untimely deaths occurred only a month after their joyful wedding day.
A death notice was shared for the pair, expressing the deep sorrow felt by their families, which include Adam’s parents, Peter and Lubica, and Tomas’ grandparents, Jozefa and Milan. In response to the tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign was initiated by Adam’s aunt, Mirka Kohutovičová, on June 9 to assist with the funeral expenses.
Mirka appealed for donations towards the joint funeral of her nephew Adam Hencek and his spouse Tomas Feuller, who tragically passed away on June 2 and June 5, 2026, respectively. The fundraising efforts successfully raised €12,070 (£10,352) on the launch day, with Mirka expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support received.
The couple’s public viewing was held on Tuesday evening at Condons Funeral Parlour in Clonmel, followed by a private cremation at the Island Crematorium in Cork on Wednesday. Originally from Slovakia, the couple resided in Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary, where the local community mourned their loss and paid tribute to them.
Tributes poured in for the couple, with Josephine, a friend of Tomas, expressing her condolences and fond memories. Daisy Wn, a former piano student of Adam, shared heartfelt words of remembrance, while Karen Douglas recalled the infectious energy and zest for life exhibited by Adam and Tomas when they crossed paths last year.
The community continues to grieve the loss of this beloved couple, remembering their light and kindness that impacted those around them.
