A high-speed chase in Camden, Arkansas, ended with a four-month-old baby being thrown from an SUV but miraculously sustaining only minor injuries. The incident occurred on May 24 when the driver, identified as 28-year-old Tyrice Fletcher, attempted to evade officers by driving at speeds exceeding 100mph before crashing the vehicle, which overturned.

Police reported that there were four children, all under six years old, inside the SUV during the chase. While the baby was ejected from the vehicle, the other three children were safely rescued from the wreckage away from live power lines. Fletcher was apprehended by Arkansas State Police after the crash.

Authorities stated that officers had tried to stop the vehicle for a traffic violation, but Fletcher refused to comply, leading to the high-speed pursuit. The chase ended when the SUV lost control, veered into oncoming traffic, struck a pole, and flipped over. Fortunately, all four children were transported to Ouachita County Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of minor injuries, with their mother notified and present at the hospital.

Fletcher is currently in custody at the Ouachita County Detention Center, facing multiple charges, including fleeing, endangering the welfare of minors, and other related offenses. In a press release, Capt. Rick Neill emphasized that the danger posed to the innocent victims was a direct consequence of Fletcher’s reckless actions during the pursuit.
