A West Derby woman has been taken into custody on suspicion of manslaughter following the discovery of a deceased man and multiple dogs at a residence in the same area. Merseyside Police responded to a call on Coachmans Drive reporting the death of a man in his 70s, currently labeled as unexplained. The investigation is ongoing to uncover all the details surrounding the incident.

The 55-year-old suspect faces allegations of manslaughter, mistreatment of a person under her care, and causing harm to an animal. She has been released on conditional bail pending further investigation. Authorities found several dogs, some deceased, inside the property when they arrived. The Liverpool Echo mentioned a police presence at the location with a tent from the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service on-site.

A post-mortem examination has been conducted, and toxicology tests are underway. Efforts continue to locate the man’s relatives, and the police are appealing for anyone with relevant information to come forward. Detective Chief Superintendent Helen Bennett emphasized the importance of allowing the authorities to conduct thorough investigations without speculation but encouraged individuals with information to cooperate.

The RSPCA acknowledged collaboration with Merseyside Police on the matter but refrained from disclosing details due to the ongoing nature of the case. Anyone possessing relevant information is urged to reach out to Merseyside Police through various channels, including social media, the official website, or by phone, quoting the incident reference number. Anonymous tips can also be provided to Crimestoppers through their hotline or website.
