A man carrying a knife and making threats prompted a lockdown at a primary school in Gloucester.
The authorities responded to the incident on Evenlode Road at approximately 11:15 am yesterday. The situation unfolded near Willow Primary Academy.
A significant police presence was visible in the vicinity, with officers remaining on-site to provide support and reassurance to the school and the local community, according to a report from Gloucestershire Live.
Authorities believe that the incident involving the man with a knife is connected to a separate incident on Evenlode Road, where a firearm was reportedly spotted in a vehicle in the vicinity shortly before. The vehicle in question was identified as a black Renault Clio by the police.
The individuals involved in the incidents had no direct ties to the school, and law enforcement is treating the events as isolated occurrences. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with either incident, and investigations are currently ongoing.
No arrests have been made in relation to either incident, with authorities urging anyone who may have information or witnessed the events to come forward.
Gloucestershire Police have made a public appeal, stating: “[Police] are particularly interested in hearing from witnesses who may have seen the vehicle in the area between 10:20 am and 11:15 am, or who possess relevant dashcam or CCTV footage.
