Meghan Markle has posted two heartwarming unseen pictures of Princess Lilibet to celebrate her fifth birthday today.
The charming images, shared on the Duchess of Sussex’s social media account, capture Prince Harry tenderly holding their daughter while Meghan gazes at them affectionately. Lilibet is dressed in a white lace outfit, showcasing her signature long hair and bare feet. As seen in previous online photos of her children, Meghan strategically styled Lilibet’s hair to cover her face.
Another snapshot shows the young princess in their garden, touching a purple flower with her feet on the grass.
Accompanying the adorable family photos, Meghan wrote, “Our dream girl. Happy 5th birthday, Lili,” along with a heart emoji.
Lilibet, also known as Lili, is the youngest daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan, born on June 4, 2021, in California. She was named Lilibet Diana in honor of her late great-grandmother, the Queen, and her grandmother, Princess Diana.
Seventh in line to the throne, Lilibet has only visited the UK once and never resided there, unlike her older brother Archie. She officially became a princess when her grandfather, the King, ascended to the throne, following regulations established by King George V in 1917.
Harry and Meghan began using the titles of prince and princess for Archie and Lili after the princess’s baptism in 2023, following discussions with Charles. Lili, who bears a resemblance to her father with her red hair, met her grandfather, the King, only once during a visit to the UK in 2022.
During the visit, coinciding with the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Lilibet turned one, and Harry and Meghan hosted a celebration for her at their former residence, Frogmore Cottage.
Royal expert Duncan Larcombe pointed out that Lilibet’s birthday underscores the strained relationship between the King and his youngest son, Harry. Larcombe expressed that King Charles regrets the situation and values being a grandparent.
Last year, Harry and Meghan marked Lilibet’s birthday by sharing several photos of the young princess with both parents when she was a baby. Meghan also posted a video of her and Harry dancing in the hospital to the song ‘Baby Mamma’ to encourage Lilibet’s birth as the Duchess had surpassed her due date.
