Northern Ireland police have apprehended a 23-year-old woman sought in connection with serious child sex crimes in Lithuania. The arrest took place in Coalisland after the International Policing Unit officers entered a rural property and discovered the woman hiding inside a wardrobe. She was taken into custody based on a Lithuanian extradition warrant related to severe sexual offenses against a child in the Mazeikiai region. The suspect is scheduled to appear before Laganside Extradition Court later this week.
Sergeant Davey of the PSNI’s International Policing Unit stated, “Despite attempting to evade accountability, the fugitive was successfully apprehended today. This arrest underscores our unwavering commitment to pursuing offenders and supporting victims.”
