A British couple, Craig and Lindsay Foreman, have been denied their appeal against espionage charges that led to their 10-year imprisonment in Iran. The Foremans, arrested in January 2025 during a global motorcycle journey, claim innocence but were not allowed at their appeal hearing, according to their family.

Their son, Joe Bennett, expressed frustration over the lack of transparency in the legal proceedings, stating that his parents were pressured to sign unread documents. The case has now advanced to the Supreme Court, leaving the family confused about the process and potential outcomes.

The Foremans, from East Sussex, are in distress as Mr. Foreman has been on a hunger strike for 25 days, while Mrs. Foreman has been fasting for 16 days. The couple’s communication has been severed by Iranian authorities.

Despite efforts by the Foreign Office, including a meeting with officials, the Foremans’ family feels uncertain about the actions being taken to secure their release. The Foreign Office has advised British nationals against traveling to Iran due to the high risk of arrest, highlighting the unjust nature of the couple’s sentence.

The situation has raised concerns about the couple’s well-being and the urgency for diplomatic intervention to resolve the issue promptly.
