Two potential cases of a dangerous virus have been detected in Europe in the last day. The individuals have exhibited symptoms like high fever, nausea, and vomiting and have been swiftly admitted to the hospital for immediate care.

The suspected Ebola infections have emerged in northern Italy, where health officials have verified that a 31-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman started showing signs of the virus after coming back from Uganda. This development coincides with a current Ebola outbreak in some African regions, which spreads through contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person or animal.

The man believed to be carrying the lethal virus is from Bulgarograsso, while the woman is from Lurate Caccivo. Both had been in Uganda for three months engaged in humanitarian work before returning to Italy recently.

They have been moved to Sacco Hospital in Milan, with the woman possibly requiring intensive care. Although they traveled to Uganda with their families, it is uncertain if their family members are also experiencing any symptoms.

Guido Bertolaso, the regional welfare minister of Lombardi, mentioned that seven Italian citizens, from two different families, returned from Uganda after spending time in regions close to the border with the DRC and Rwanda.

The NHS continues to advise British travelers to assess the Ebola risk of their destination before departure. They emphasize seeking guidance from a travel clinic if visiting an Ebola-prone area, ideally 4 to 6 weeks before the trip.

Nearly 1,000 suspected Ebola cases have been documented since May 15, with approximately 220 fatalities recorded to date.

Symptoms of Ebola may manifest between 2 and 21 days after exposure, with initial signs resembling flu-like symptoms such as high fever, extreme fatigue, and headaches.

The health service stresses the importance of contacting 111 if having visited an Ebola-affected country or coming into contact with someone who has. Immediate treatment in isolation at a hospital, often in an intensive care unit, is crucial for managing Ebola.
