Carrie Johnson has shared her harrowing experience of being drugged by notorious black-cab rapist John Worboys, leading her to feel suicidal. Johnson, wife of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, recounted the incident from 2007 when she was a 19-year-old student in Chelsea. Worboys offered her a ride home when she couldn’t afford the fare, claiming he had won money at a casino and then gave her a spiked vodka shot.
Fortunately, Johnson passed out at home, avoiding a potentially dangerous situation inside the cab. She described her distress to Good Morning Britain, recalling her mother’s shock upon seeing her in such a vulnerable state. Worboys even brazenly offered his phone number to Johnson as she exited the cab, which later served as crucial evidence for the police.
Worboys was initially imprisoned in 2009 for numerous sexual offenses against multiple victims in London. Following further revelations and charges, it was revealed that his crimes dated back to 2000. Johnson mentioned that more women have reached out to her after watching a series on Worboys’ victims, expressing fears of having been in his cab as well.
The possibility of there being up to 1,000 or more victims was raised by Johnson, considering the extent of Worboys’ criminal activities during his time as a cab driver. Despite a parole board’s decision in 2017 to release him, it was overturned due to legal challenges from victims. Recently, Worboys was denied parole again due to the continued threat he poses to women, with another reconsideration in approximately two years.
