Donald Trump is establishing a billion-dollar fund to distribute money to his supporters and individuals involved in the efforts to overturn the government and maintain his position. American taxpayers will be funding this initiative, regardless of their preferences.

Earlier this year, Trump initiated legal action against the IRS for the unauthorized disclosure of his tax records during his initial term in office. Despite the whistleblower responsible for the leak serving a five-year prison sentence, Trump pursued a $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS. This raised eyebrows due to the exorbitant amount exceeding the IRS’s operational budget and the conflict of interest as Trump, as President, oversees the IRS and the Justice Department representing them.

Upon scrutiny by the judge, Trump and the government department controlled by him opted to settle the case out of court for $1.7 billion just before facing dismissal for its absurdity. Initially, Trump claimed the funds would be directed to charity, but the plan has since shifted to creating a $1.7 billion fund to compensate individuals Trump believes were mistreated by the Justice Department during and after his initial term. This includes pardoned individuals involved in the January 6th insurrection.

The fund’s operations are concerning, with payouts to be determined by a board predominantly appointed by the Attorney General, who has ties to Trump. The lack of oversight and transparency regarding payouts has drawn criticism from the House Judiciary Committee, labeling it as “pure fraud and highway robbery.”

Critics, including government watchdog Donald Sherman and commentator Ari Melber, have condemned the fund as corrupt and worse than historical scandals like Watergate. The fund’s size, $1.776 billion, hints at Trump’s intentions, symbolizing the American Revolution and possibly rewarding criminal behavior in support of his agenda.
