A man from the UK has passed away, and his teenage son sustained serious injuries in a road accident on the Greek island of Corfu today. The 42-year-old British tourist was operating a quad bike with his 15-year-old son as a passenger when the vehicle veered off the road and crashed in an olive grove, as per local media accounts.
The incident occurred around 2 pm local time on the rural Roda-Acharavi road near Almyros. Authorities, including the police and fire department, promptly responded to the scene, where they extricated the driver from the wreckage.
Following the rescue, emergency services transported the man to the Acharavi regional medical facility and subsequently to the Corfu Hospital, with medical personnel working to stabilize him during the transit.
Simultaneously, the teenager was taken via ambulance, accompanied by a physician from the Acharavi office, to the Corfu Hospital for treatment, as reported by the Hellas Journal.
