Two British tourists engaged in a violent incident at a cocktail bar in Majorca after being denied further drinks by a staff member. According to a four-page indictment presented before the Provincial Court of Palma, Tommy Colm Witty, 24, and Alexander Lee Anderson, 33, along with two unidentified individuals, became aggressive towards a female employee who refused to serve them. The situation escalated when the tourists made inappropriate remarks and physical gestures, leading to a physical altercation where the employee was pushed, causing injuries.

During the altercation, a male colleague who tried to intervene was struck on the head with a glass, while another customer suffered injuries to the neck and hand when a glass was thrown at him. CCTV footage of the incident, which took place at Iroko Mallorca, showed the severity of the assault, with Witty identified as the perpetrator of the glass attack. All three victims required medical attention and stitches, resulting in the employees needing time off work.

Initially facing potential lengthy jail sentences, Witty and Anderson reached a plea bargain agreement just before their trial. Witty received a two-year suspended prison sentence after being held in custody since the incident, while Anderson was fined 720 Euros. As part of the plea deal, the duo agreed to compensate the three victims with a four-figure settlement. The lenient sentences were influenced by their guilty pleas and the compensation provided to the victims.

Initially arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide, the tourists were charged with three counts of wounding following the altercation. Authorities responded to the incident, which involved a mass fight, at a nightspot in Palmanova, leading to the arrests of the two individuals. The injured parties were taken to a hospital in Palma for treatment of their wounds.

The Civil Guard spokesperson described the incident as involving attempted homicide, wounding, and public disorder, with the officers intervening to stop the violence and provide medical assistance to the injured individuals. The tourists involved in the altercation were apprehended at the scene for their role in the violent incident.
