“Snooker World Champion Wu Yize to Buy Home, Travel with Prize Money”

Wu Yize, the newly crowned snooker world champion, expressed his heartfelt intention to use his prize money to purchase a home and take his parents on a trip. The 22-year-old secured his inaugural world title by defeating John Higgins 10-6 at The Crucible on Monday.

Apart from clinching the prestigious trophy, Wu now holds a substantial sum of £500,000 in prize money. He shared his plans for the prize money during an interview with SportsBoom, stating his desire to buy a house and travel with his parents, whom he credited as his true champions and the pillars of his strength.

Despite having initial plans for his winnings, Wu also emphasized the need for rest following the intense match, expressing his eagerness to simply get a good night’s sleep after battling nerves throughout the game.

Reflecting on his victory, Wu highlighted the significance of his mother in his life, especially during her ongoing health struggles. He revealed that his mother’s unwavering support has been crucial, mentioning her sacrifices and dedication to his snooker career.

Jason Ferguson, the chairman of snooker’s governing body, commended Wu’s exceptional talent and determination, emphasizing the significance of his victory for his family. Ferguson praised Wu’s journey to success and predicted a bright future for the young champion in the sport.
