The President of the United States has declared that ships from countries not involved in the conflict with Iran and currently stranded in the Strait of Hormuz will receive guidance out on Monday morning.
Using the Truth Social platform, former President Trump announced the initiation of a new initiative named ‘Project Freedom’ as a humanitarian endeavor. Trump stated that the operation to release stranded ships aims to alleviate the situation for individuals, businesses, and nations that have been unfairly impacted. The global shipping passage has been obstructed since US-Israeli attacks on Tehran on February 28, causing disruptions in oil transportation and escalating costs.
Following unsuccessful negotiations between US and Iranian representatives in Islamabad last month, the US Navy imposed a blockade on Iran’s ports due to the impasse. Trump emphasized that only innocent bystanders caught up in the turmoil will be allowed to exit the Strait the next day, stressing the neutral and innocent nature of the affected parties.
In an effort to benefit Iran, the Middle East, and the US, Trump assured these countries that their ships will be safely guided out of the constrained waterways to resume their operations. The process, referred to as “Project Freedom,” is set to commence Middle East time on Monday.
Meanwhile, Iran has reportedly presented a 14-point plan to the US aimed at ending the conflict, along with a request for a 30-day extension to the ceasefire. The President indicated progress in negotiations that could lead to positive outcomes, but warned of a forceful response if tomorrow’s humanitarian operation faces any interference.
Trump stressed the necessity of freeing up innocent parties affected by circumstances, highlighting the humanitarian aspect of the US-led initiative. He underscored the importance of goodwill among all parties involved and expressed readiness to address any disruptions to the humanitarian process decisively.
