“Unusual Weather Alert: Snow Forecasted in 26 UK Counties in May”

Weather forecasts indicate the possibility of snowfall in up to 26 UK counties in early May, even as temperatures may reach 26C this week. The ECMWF weather model predicts snow starting in northern Scotland on May 6, moving south to affect Scotland, parts of England, and Northern Ireland.

By 6pm on May 6, heavy snow is expected over Scottish mountains and some flurries in central Scotland. Later, snow could fall in western parts of Northern Ireland. On May 7, snow is forecasted in southern Scotland and northern England, particularly high ground in northeast Scotland, with up to 15cm accumulation expected.

The ECMWF model suggests snow may affect 26 counties in England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Meanwhile, the Met Office anticipates temperatures of 26C in southern England on Friday with a chance of thundery showers.

The Met Office warns of unsettled conditions with rain, showers, and potential thunderstorms spreading from the south and west by Friday. The weekend could see changeable weather with showers, especially in the north, alongside sunny spells.
