Shoppers in the UK are being advised to inspect their televisions bought from a major British retailer following safety concerns that specific models could pose a fire hazard. The affected TV sets were sold through Argos under the Toshiba and Bush brands and have been found to have faulty wiring that does not meet safety standards. There has been a full product recall due to a potential fire risk if the electrical system malfunctions. The recall affects 17 Toshiba models made between November 2024 and February 2026, and 15 Bush models sold between December 2024 and March 2026.

Argos highlighted that the risk is minimal, with the majority of products not impacted. The issue with the Toshiba TVs is related to the power cable and fuse, while the problem with Bush TVs is linked to a similar fuse-related concern. Customers who purchased these TVs are urged to visit a specific website to check if their product matches the listed serial numbers of affected units. For those concerned about their Bush TV, they can verify the serial number online. By entering the TV’s serial number on the website, customers can determine if their product is affected and proceed to arrange for a replacement power cable or fuse, which will be provided at no cost. Instructions for fuse replacement can also be found on the website.

To locate their television’s serial number, customers should check the rating label on the back of the unit. Argos emphasized that this recall is a precautionary measure to ensure customer safety, expressing regret for any inconvenience caused to affected customers.
