Britain is poised to experience summer-like warmth over the upcoming weekend and into the following week, as indicated by the latest weather forecasts. Up to eight regions across the UK are expected to enjoy temperatures reaching 22C as high pressure systems continue to impact weather patterns towards the end of April.

According to forecast data from WXCharts, next Wednesday could see widespread minimum temperatures of 20C, with the southern regions anticipated to be the warmest. In Wales, temperatures are forecasted to range between 14 and 20C, while Scotland may experience temperatures between 11 and 19C. Areas like Somerset, Dorset, Berkshire, Hampshire, Gloucestershire, and Warwickshire could see temperatures surpassing 21C, with projections suggesting 22C in regions near the West Midlands and Staffordshire – well above the average daytime maximum temperature for April.

The ongoing warm spell is set to extend through the weekend, offering plenty of sunshine across most parts of the country. Steven Keates, Deputy Chief Forecaster, mentioned that high pressure will continue to dominate the weather in the UK, resulting in dry conditions and sunny spells for most areas. However, some regions may experience cloudier conditions at times, with the possibility of patchy rain in northern Scotland towards the weekend.

As temperatures are expected to climb steadily, reaching the low twenties by Friday and over the weekend, coastal areas may remain slightly cooler due to onshore breezes. Clear skies and light winds overnight could lead to patchy frost in some areas, cautioning gardeners to be aware of potential frost.

With tree pollen currently at its peak season, hay fever sufferers in Britain, estimated at 16 million, have been advised to brace themselves for familiar symptoms as the sunny weather and clear skies this weekend could exacerbate the situation. The Met Office’s pollen forecast indicates ‘High’ levels across England and Wales on Saturday, escalating to ‘Very High’ in the Scottish Borders.

To reduce pollen exposure, experts at St John’s Ambulance recommend wearing wraparound sunglasses and applying Vaseline around the nostrils to prevent pollen from entering the eyes and nose. Overall, the weather outlook suggests morning low cloud clearing for a sunny day, with warmth prevailing for most regions while eastern coasts may experience cooler temperatures. The forecast indicates a period of fine and dry weather with ample sunshine, occasional overnight fog and frost in the east, and temperatures above average for many areas.
