During a Sinfonia Lahti concert in Finland, a conductor accidentally caused a rare 18th-century violin to fall from the soloist’s hands, as captured on camera. The violinist, Elina Vahala, managed to soften the impact by swiftly using her foot to prevent major damage to the precious instrument. The Italian-made violin, valued between €1-3 million, was briefly checked after the incident and later repaired for a minor seam issue. Elina expressed relief at saving her beloved instrument, emphasizing its deep personal significance to her. Despite the mishap, both the conductor and orchestra expressed support for Elina, who looks forward to performing with her restored violin in future concerts.
