A depraved individual who preyed on four young girls with disturbing acts of abuse managed to conceal his twisted desires for many years until his true nature was exposed as a repeat offender.
Colin Walker, a retired security guard residing in Wirral, Merseyside, confessed to two charges of sexually assaulting a child under 13 and inducing a child to engage in sexual activity. Additionally, he was convicted of 12 counts of sexual assault on a child under 13, four counts of penetration assault, and two counts of indecent assault by a jury.
The courageous victims of this sexual predator played a crucial role in bringing him to justice by revealing in court the extent of his perverted and disgusting behavior, as acknowledged by the judge.
During the trial at Liverpool Crown Court, it was revealed that Walker, based in Tranmere, Wirral, targeted his victims as young as five, persistently touching their private areas over a span of 25 years.
Statements from the victims, including one mother describing the profound impact on her daughter, showcased the lasting trauma inflicted by Walker’s heinous acts. Another mother shared how her daughter’s once vibrant personality had drastically changed due to the abuse she suffered.
Sentenced to 10 years in prison with an additional year on license, Judge Simon Medland KC highlighted the compelling evidence presented by the victims, emphasizing the importance of protecting children from such despicable acts. Walker, who denied the charges, was deemed by the jury to be dishonest.
The judge commended the bravery of the victims for speaking out and telling the truth. Walker, with no prior criminal record, will serve a minimum of two-thirds of his sentence and is subject to strict preventive measures, including a permanent sexual harm prevention order and lifelong registration as a sex offender.
