A British visitor was swiftly taken to the hospital after plunging from the second story of his lodging in Lanzarote, landing in a shallow fish pond housing Koi carp and terrapins. Emergency responders and medical personnel swiftly came to the aid of the vacationer following the incident at the luxurious H10 Rubicon Horizons Collection in Playa Blanca.

The incident was reported around 11:30 pm on Saturday. The fish pond, where the 70-year-old man accidentally fell, believed to be situated two floors below the street level next to a hotel buffet restaurant, had a water depth of approximately 15 inches.

Although details of the event surfaced over the weekend, it was only yesterday that reliable sources disclosed his age and nationality. According to one source, the mishap is being treated as an unintentional occurrence. It seems that while on the second floor with his spouse, the man leaned over to observe the fish pond below, lost his balance, and fell.

Upon the arrival of firefighters, medical staff had already secured the elderly tourist with a neck brace. Using a rescue board, they carefully extracted him before transferring him to an awaiting ambulance. The injured individual was then transported to Molina Orosa Hospital in the capital city of Arrecife, Lanzarote, although his current condition remains undisclosed.

Following the incident, local law enforcement and Civil Guard officers were activated by a regional government crisis response coordination center. The hotel where the visitor was injured, previously known as the H10 Rubicon Palace, declined to comment citing client confidentiality.

Described as an exclusive five-star resort with a design inspired by the island of Lanzarote, the beachfront adults-only establishment in Playa Blanca is frequented by British tourists due to its popularity in the southernmost part of Lanzarote.
