A grandmother shared her excitement after winning £142,857 through the Postcode Lottery, six decades after winning her home in a competition. Pamela Hiscocks, 79, and her husband Anthony, 82, originally won their three-bedroom bungalow in a developer-run contest in the 1960s. Their postcode has now brought them a substantial windfall, valued at 45 times the bungalow’s initial purchase price of £3,175.

Pamela, a mother-of-one from Melksham, Wiltshire, expressed astonishment at their latest stroke of luck, calling it “amazing” and beyond her wildest dreams. Anthony echoed her sentiments, stating that the £1m prize they shared with six neighbors was unexpected and a significant win compared to their past successes.

Recounting their previous wins, Anthony mentioned winning the pools with colleagues and acquiring their home through a competition with a clever slogan. Pamela emphasized their intention to use the money for their family’s benefit, prioritizing their son, daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren.

The couple’s granddaughter, Amy, who had just returned from her hen party, is set to have an unforgettable wedding thanks to the newfound wealth. Plans for an anniversary celebration and family holidays are also on the horizon for Pamela and Anthony.

Their close friend and neighbor, Lesley Rose, also experienced a life-changing win of £142,857, despite battling incurable cancer. Lesley expressed gratitude for the newfound luck, which she intends to use for home improvements, vacations, and treating her loved ones.

Lesley’s cancer journey began unexpectedly after a fall in her garden revealed the illness, leading to intensive treatments and surgeries. Despite the challenges, she remains optimistic and thankful for the care received from healthcare professionals.

Family support has been crucial for Lesley throughout her health struggles, with her husband, children, and grandchildren standing by her side. The close-knit family is now looking forward to brighter days ahead, with plans to enjoy the unexpected windfall together.
