A young teenage girl sustained serious injuries in a daylight stabbing incident. The 13-year-old victim was quickly taken to the hospital following the attack that took place around 4 pm on Friday, April 17, near Wensley Road in Woodthorpe, Nottinghamshire. Currently, she is in stable condition.
Subsequently, a teenage boy, whose identity remains undisclosed for legal reasons, was apprehended and charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed weapon. He was scheduled to appear at Nottingham Youth Court on Monday, April 20.
Superintendent James Woolley, overseeing county policing, expressed, “Officers are providing assistance to the victim and her family in this distressing situation. We recognize the impact such an event will have on the local community.”
“I want to assure the public that we are diligently investigating the circumstances surrounding this assault,” added Woolley. “We have arrested and charged a 14-year-old boy with attempted murder.”
