In a recent post on Truth Social, Donald Trump issued a threat to obliterate all power plants and bridges in Iran. The U.S. president accused Iran of breaching the ceasefire agreement following reports of Iranian gun boats attacking tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran had announced the closure of the strategic waterway while the U.S. maintained a blockade on Iranian ports.
Trump’s latest message urged Iranians to reach a deal during upcoming peace talks in Islamabad. He warned that failure to do so would result in the U.S. destroying all power plants and bridges in Iran. In capital letters, he emphasized, “NO MORE MR. NICE GUY!” and stated that the structures would be taken down swiftly and easily if the deal is not accepted.
This is not the first time Trump has made such threats against Iran. He previously made similar statements in a provocative post on Truth Social on April 5, before the ceasefire agreement was in place. In his earlier post, he vividly mentioned targeting power plants and bridges in Iran and demanded the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump’s strong rhetoric intensified as he warned Iran about the consequences of not accepting the proposed deal. He emphasized the potential destruction of critical infrastructure in Iran if an agreement is not reached, asserting his determination to take action that he believes should have been taken by previous administrations.
The escalating tensions between the U.S. and Iran stem from the recent events in the Strait of Hormuz, where Iran’s actions were perceived as a violation of the ceasefire agreement. The situation is expected to be addressed further as representatives head to Islamabad for negotiations in the coming days.
