A tragic incident occurred as a woman lost her life while attempting to rescue her pet dog from the ocean. Lancashire Police reported that a man and a woman faced difficulties in the water in Thornton-Cleveleys on Saturday evening as they tried to save their dog, which was stranded.

The woman, aged in her 60s, received treatment at the scene but was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The man, also in his 60s, was hospitalized and remains in critical condition. Fortunately, the dog was successfully rescued from the sea unharmed after the incident near Fleetwood Beach Cafe according to LancsLive.

A police spokesperson stated that following a call from the ambulance service at 8:31 pm the previous day, two individuals were rescued from the sea by HM Coastguard in Thornton Cleveleys. Despite the efforts, the woman tragically passed away at the hospital, with ongoing efforts to inform her next of kin.
