Two teenagers are in critical condition at the hospital following a serious accident. The collision, which involved a black Ford Fiesta and a silver Toyota Corolla on Saltburn Lane, resulted in six individuals needing medical attention. The incident occurred on June 6th, prompting the closure of the road for several hours as emergency responders arrived at the scene.

Both 17-year-old boys in the black Ford Fiesta suffered life-threatening injuries, with the driver and a rear passenger sustaining severe harm. Additionally, a 15-year-old boy in the back seat was hospitalized with a broken leg, cuts, and shock. An 18-year-old man in the front passenger seat was treated for cuts and shock at the hospital.

Fortunately, the occupants of the Toyota Corolla, a 54-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, only suffered minor injuries and shock. They were taken to the hospital for further evaluation. The Great North Air Ambulance Service mobilized a critical care team to assist at the scene, working in conjunction with the North East Ambulance Service to treat the injured parties.

In total, five ambulance crews, a specialist paramedic, a clinical team leader, and a duty officer responded to the crash site. After receiving initial treatment, all six patients were transported to the hospital via road for further care.
