American military forces have continued their airstrikes on Iranian targets for a sixth consecutive night, resulting in the deaths of at least eight individuals and injuries to 20 others. This recent wave of attacks has brought the total casualty count to nearly 40. The strikes have shifted focus to civilian infrastructure, including bridges, airports, power facilities, and a train station.

Among the heavily damaged targets is Iran’s Eagle airbase in southern Iran, designed to safeguard Tehran’s airforce. The airstrikes have caused significant destruction to aircraft and infrastructure at the base. The US military presence in the Middle East has been bolstered, with around 300 warplanes on standby for potential strikes against Iran.

Reports indicate that over 13,000 US bombs have now struck Iran. In retaliation, Iran has launched missiles targeting US assets in Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, and Qatar, where a child was injured by debris from an intercepted missile. Iran has reiterated its stance that the Strait of Hormuz will not revert to its pre-war state, prompting an increased US blockade of Iranian ship traffic.

Following the recent strikes, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a warning of severe consequences for countries hosting US bases if the attacks persist. The IRGC emphasized that targeting civilians and infrastructure will result in a heavy price to pay for the aggressors.

In a bid to exert pressure on the US, Iran has also targeted Kuwait’s civilian facilities, damaging a power and desalination plant crucial for supplying drinking water to the country. Efforts are underway to assess and repair the damage caused. The situation is further complicated by renewed threats from the Yemeni Houthis, an Iranian-backed group, who have aligned with the Sunni al-Shabab terror organization in Somalia.

Iran has encouraged this alliance to potentially block the Bab el-Mandab Strait between Djibouti and Yemen, with support from Iranian drone technology provided to al-Shabab. The collaboration between these groups poses a new challenge in the region’s escalating tensions.
