The United States is reportedly considering an operation that could involve sending troops to Kharg Island in Iran to gain control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz. This move follows intense airstrikes on Iranian missile sites and military positions by US forces.

Simultaneously, Saudi Arabia has initiated attacks on the airport in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, while Iran-backed Houthi rebels have launched missiles at Saudi Arabia, breaking a truce established in March 2022.

In response to escalating tensions, the US has conducted multiple bombing raids on Iran, targeting key locations such as the city of Bushehr. Iran claims that explosions have also occurred near Bandar Abbas, close to its nuclear power plant in the Bushehr province.

The UAE reported casualties after Iranian missiles struck two vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, prompting US President Donald Trump to announce the reinstatement of a naval blockade on Tehran’s ports. Trump vowed to impose a tax on cargo passing through the strait, a move criticized by international maritime authorities.

Iran has vowed to maintain control over the waterway despite US military actions. The ongoing airstrikes by the US aim to pressure Iran into opening the Strait of Hormuz for international shipping.

As tensions escalate, concerns are rising about potential Iranian attacks, with Israel on high alert. The US strikes on Iran have intensified, with targets hit repeatedly to ensure effectiveness, particularly in preparation for potentially taking control of Kharg Island.

The situation remains volatile, with conflicting claims and actions from all sides involved in the escalating conflict in the Middle East.
