A variety of children’s products designed for infants and toddlers have been recalled due to safety concerns. Additionally, a common cooking ingredient nearly caused the death of a 14-month-old child recently.

Parents are being advised to immediately discard the listed items and contact the manufacturer for refunds, as these products pose significant risks to families. TheKiddoSpace, a US-based children’s educational toy maker, has issued an urgent recall notice for eight items sold globally and online.

These items include a swing with fabric that can pose a strangulation risk, finger-painting kits containing hazardous substances, and talking flashcard toys with non-compliant USB cables. Other recalled products include a felt play set, puzzle egg toys, a book with detachable parts, and an indoor hover soccer ball toy.

To obtain a refund from TheKiddoSpace, parents are instructed to take a photo of the defective toy labeled as “recalled” before disposal and email it to the manufacturer. In the case of the swing toy, parents should destroy it and submit a photo of the destroyed item for a refund.

In addition to the toy recalls, a metallic cake decorating powder by Crumb Australia has also been recalled after a 14-month-old child inhaled the baking ingredient, leading to serious health complications. The product contained toxic compounds prompting concerns over labeling and safety standards.

The affected cake decorating powders should be disposed of immediately, regardless of purchase date or color. These products were sold between August 1, 2019, and May 6, 2026, both in Australia and internationally.

The child who ingested the baking ingredient is now recovering at home after a challenging medical ordeal that left him with lifelong lung injuries.
