A man from the UK passed away following a robbery in Tenerife. The incident occurred last Wednesday in Los Cristianos, located in the southern part of the island. The victim, accompanied by his wife during the attack, was hospitalized in critical condition and unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Floral tributes have been placed outside the apartment complex where the mugging transpired, with online messages honoring the deceased. One bouquet bore the words “RIP, We Will Miss You,” while a friend recalled meeting the man at the Big Ben Pub in Los Cristianos, celebrating his birthday joyfully with his wife before the tragic event.

Expressing grief, another acquaintance described the victim as a kind individual and hoped for justice to prevail. The incident unfolded at the entrance of an apartment block in Los Cristianos, where the victim fell and suffered severe injuries after a brief altercation with the assailant, leading to cardiac arrest.

Emergency medical services managed to resuscitate him at the scene before rushing him to the hospital in a critical state. While no arrests have been made yet, authorities are anticipated to provide updates soon, as there are hopes of an imminent apprehension.

Concerns have been raised by expatriates and regular visitors to Tenerife regarding the escalating mugging incidents in the area, urging law enforcement to intensify efforts in combating the issue. Stephen Fox, in a social media post, highlighted a series of incidents in the same vicinity over the past few months and criticized the lack of action from the authorities despite the presence of external surveillance cameras.

In a separate incident in February, a British tourist was stabbed in Playa de las Americas, Tenerife, after chasing a thief who had stolen a friend’s phone. The teenager was assaulted when catching up with the culprit behind a bar in the lively Las Veronicas district.
