Today, the UK is bracing for scorching temperatures as a heatwave is set to peak at 36C. However, a significant drop in temperatures is expected in the coming days, with some areas possibly waking up to as low as 4C.

The UK is currently experiencing its third major heatwave of the year, leading to heat health alerts being issued across England. While the Met Office has not yet issued any weather warnings, people are being urged to stay hydrated due to the severe health risks posed by the high temperatures.

The hot weather is expected to persist into next week, particularly in southern regions where temperatures are likely to remain in the 30s. Fortunately, cooler conditions are on the horizon, providing relief from the intense heatwave.

According to the GFS weather model, on July 19, parts of Scotland could see temperatures as low as 4C in the morning. By midday, temperatures are forecasted to reach just 14C in eastern England, with most areas across the UK experiencing temperatures between 10C and 12C.

Similar temperature patterns are anticipated for the following day, with highs of around 15C in southern regions by midday on July 12. Temperature anomaly maps highlight that the UK will experience significantly cooler temperatures compared to the seasonal norms during this period.

The latest forecast from the Met Office indicates that southern areas could see temperatures peaking at 36C today, while northern regions may reach up to 34C. Tomorrow, temperatures are expected to reach 35C in the south and 33C in the north, with a chance of thunderstorms later in the day.

The Met Office warned of cloudier conditions and potential showery rain in parts of Scotland, with the risk of heavy and thundery showers. The evening is expected to remain mostly dry, although Scotland may see some rain. Saturday’s forecast includes cloudy skies and showery rain in Scotland, while other areas can expect sunny weather with a possibility of low cloud along eastern coasts of England. Breezy conditions are expected, with hotter temperatures in the west and cooler temperatures in the east.
