A tragic incident unfolded at the Berlin Pride Celebration as one person was killed and multiple individuals were injured when a van rammed into the crowd, prompting the evacuation of the event.

The Berlin Pride event, also known as Christopher Street Day Berlin (CSD), was abruptly canceled as German media instructed attendees to leave the premises due to the reported incident.

Authorities launched a significant police operation following reports of a vehicle crashing into attendees at the edge of Tiergarten park, with a large screen displaying an “Evacuation” message.

A police spokesperson mentioned the deployment of a helicopter to illuminate the accident site and assist in the search for the fleeing suspect.

Media outlets reported that one critically injured person succumbed to their injuries, while 14 others are currently under medical care, as confirmed by police sources.

Organizers took to Instagram to urge participants to exit the area calmly and orderly, avoiding specific locations, following the declaration of a mass casualty incident from a van speeding into the crowd.

Eyewitnesses observed a man fleeing on foot after exiting the vehicle, prompting a search for suspects by the Berlin police, with over 40 emergency service personnel responding to the scene.

Videos captured the chaotic scene with people leaving and ambulances rushing to aid the victims after the reported attack during the Berlin Pride parade.

Berlin Police, in a social media post, detailed their ongoing efforts with various units and rescue teams at Großer Tiergarten, where the incident occurred, emphasizing the search for suspects.

The program at the event was disrupted, leading to an early conclusion, as organizers advised attendees to vacate the area in an orderly manner, avoiding certain locations.

Reports suggested that a white van crashed into a crowd near Lennéstraße in Tiergarten park, prompting intense efforts to locate the suspects involved in the incident.

The Christopher Street Day (CSD) parade in Berlin faced cancellation due to the major police operation at the park’s edge, where authorities tended to the injured following a car reportedly driving into the crowd.
