The family of a woman who tragically lost her life in a dog attack fondly remembers her as a vibrant and humorous individual who was cherished by everyone.
Lila Hall, also known as Carol, passed away as a result of an incident involving two dogs at a residence on Willis Pearson Avenue, Wolverhampton, last week. Responders rushed to the location late on April 15, but unfortunately, the 78-year-old was pronounced deceased at the scene. The attack is believed to have occurred around 11:30 pm.
In a statement released through West Midlands Police, Carol’s family described her as fun-loving, outgoing, and a source of laughter for all. They expressed gratitude to the emergency services and appreciated the support and kind words from loved ones.
The dogs involved, not owned by Lila, were euthanized on-site and were confirmed not to be a prohibited breed, as per Birmingham Live.
A spokesperson for the police stated, “Our condolences are with Lila’s family and friends. We acknowledge the distress this incident has caused in the community and have officers present to provide support. The dogs have been evaluated by our team and independently reviewed by another police unit, with no indication of them being a banned breed.”
Following the incident, a 37-year-old man was apprehended on suspicion of failing to control a dangerously aggressive dog resulting in a fatal injury. He has been released on bail as investigations continue.
