Five individuals lost their lives, and two others sustained injuries in the aftermath of an explosion and subsequent fire at a defense company in South Korea, as confirmed by authorities. The tragic incident occurred on Monday at a facility operated by Hanwha Aerospace in Daejeon, South Korea. The cause behind the explosion remains undisclosed at this time.
Hanwha Aerospace, a security firm designated by the government, manages the facility suspected of developing large-scale propellants and surface-to-surface weapons systems.
According to local medical official Kim Ju-yeon, one of the injured individuals is in critical condition following the blast. The identities of the casualties have not been publicly disclosed yet.
