Temperatures have returned to normal levels after a recent heatwave, with the mercury hitting 35C last week. However, there are indications that temperatures may rise again to around 30C in certain parts of the UK. The Met Office projects temperatures ranging from 19C to 22C across the country this week, with a possibility of thunderstorms and heavy showers tomorrow.

The GFS weather model suggests a return to 30C temperatures by June 11, particularly in the south-east, including London. Subsequent highs of 28C are anticipated on June 15, potentially reaching as far north as Yorkshire. By June 16, temperatures could once again hit 30C in the south-east, with the rest of the UK experiencing mid-to-high-20s temperatures.

Temperature anomaly maps highlight regions in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland where temperatures may surpass seasonal averages. Around 16 counties are expected to see temperatures of 28C or higher over the mentioned period. The Met Office has hinted at the likelihood of hot weather by the end of the month, with a cautionary note about possible thunderstorms.

Looking ahead to June 16-30, the Met Office forecast suggests a relatively settled start with high pressure leading to drier conditions in most parts of the UK. While some showers or rain spells remain possible, light winds are expected with temperatures likely above normal. Towards the end of June, low pressure might bring heavier showers and thunderstorms, especially in the south, accompanied by potentially hot conditions.
