A young man, 19, has tragically lost his life following a car crash into a tree in a serene village setting. Authorities from Leicestershire Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) responded to the incident on Station Road, Great Dalby, in the Melton district at around 8:45 pm on Wednesday, May 20. The collision involved a white Vauxhall Corsa that veered off the road and collided with the tree.
Sadly, the 19-year-old passenger succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the 18-year-old driver was rushed to the hospital for treatment of severe injuries. Additionally, two other passengers in the rear of the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were also taken to the hospital.
An appeal has been issued for witnesses to the crash to come forward by Leicestershire Live. Detective Constable Emma Neeves, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) of the police force, urged any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage of the incident to provide information that could assist in the ongoing investigation.
