Tiger Woods has entered a plea of not guilty after his arrest following a rollover crash involving two vehicles in Florida. The renowned golfer, aged 50, is facing charges related to driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to take a lawful test.
The incident occurred when Woods attempted to pass a tow truck on a narrow road, resulting in his dark SUV rolling onto its side. Despite registering a 0.00 on a breathalyzer test, he declined to undergo a urinalysis. Following the crash, Woods was required to spend eight hours at Martin County Jail before being released and returning home.
According to reports from TMZ, Woods submitted a guilty plea as per court records, with legal representation provided by attorney Douglas Duncan. These developments emerged shortly after remarks made by former President Donald Trump to the New York Post about Woods’ condition. Trump expressed his belief that Woods is managing well despite facing significant physical challenges.
Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek clarified that alcohol was not a factor in the crash, as evidenced by Woods’ negative breathalyzer results. However, Woods’ refusal to undergo a urinalysis led to the DUI charges, along with property damage implications. The Sheriff detailed the sequence of events surrounding the crash, emphasizing the initial suspicion of impairment upon discovering the rolled-over vehicle.
Sheriff Budensiek highlighted that despite Woods exhibiting signs of impairment due to his previous injuries and surgeries, field sobriety tests were conducted, resulting in Woods’ arrest. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the crash, with both Woods and the other involved party remaining unharmed. The investigation and legal proceedings are ongoing in this case.
