Tesco recently introduced a new Tesco Clubcard tailored for 16 and 17-year-olds, expanding access to exclusive Clubcard Prices deals and the ability to earn and redeem Clubcard points. This digital Clubcard is exclusively accessible through the Tesco app or website and requires an invitation from a parent or guardian via their Clubcard account.
To enroll, the parent or guardian must navigate to their account settings, select “Invite to Clubcard,” and send a sign-up link to the teen. The “Invite to Clubcard” feature is visible only in the latest version of the Tesco app. With over 24 million UK households already holding a Tesco Clubcard, the new offering aims to cater to younger shoppers.
Tesco’s Group Membership & Loyalty Director, Shama Wilson, expressed enthusiasm about providing 16 and 17-year-olds with Clubcard benefits, anticipating a positive reception among this age group. Members of the new Clubcard for 16-17s can access exclusive in-store Clubcard Prices, including deals like the popular Tesco lunchtime meal offer for £3.85, while also accruing points for future voucher redemptions.
Tesco shoppers earn Clubcard points for every pound spent in stores or for fuel purchases at Tesco forecourts. Additionally, points can be earned through Tesco Bank and Tesco Mobile transactions. Customers need a minimum of 150 points to receive a £1.50 Clubcard voucher for use at Tesco, with the option to increase voucher value by leveraging Rewards Partners like Pizza Express, Alton Towers, or Hotels.com.
