Stand up to Racism has criticized those who are spreading hateful messages in response to the tragic death of Henry Nowak. The Anti-racist organization expressed sympathy for the family of the 18-year-old victim and denounced the alleged shortcomings of Hampshire police in handling the case. Vickrum Digwa, aged 23, received a life sentence with a minimum of 21 years for fatally stabbing Nowak on December 3, 2025.

Various individuals from the UK and international far-right groups have exploited the situation following Henry’s death. Nigel Farage, the leader of Reform UK, entered the debate by stating that the rights of white individuals are undervalued compared to ethnic minorities in a “two-tier Britain.”

A protest against the police turned violent near the location of Henry’s death in Southampton, prompting the response from Stand up to Racism. The organization conveyed its condolences to Henry’s family, expressing shock over the bodycam footage and police failures.

Stand up to Racism raised concerns about known fascists and far-right activists using Henry’s killing to promote their hateful ideologies. They criticized figures like Nigel Farage, Tommy Robinson, and Elon Musk for exploiting the tragedy to advance their divisive agendas.

Over 1,000 demonstrators gathered to protest against the police involved in Henry’s arrest at Southampton Central Police station. The peaceful march escalated into chaos as protesters hurled objects at the police, leading to clashes and officers retreating from the scene.

Despite the initial intention to honor Henry’s memory, the protest took a violent turn with confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement. The situation escalated as objects were thrown at the police, resulting in clashes and a tense standoff in the St Denys area of Southampton.
