A British girl, aged three, is currently in critical condition at a hospital in Spain after her parents found her unconscious in the villa pool in Mallorca. The child was rushed to Son Espases Hospital in Palma with a weak pulse and has not shown signs of improvement since then, according to local reports.
This incident marks the fourth involving British families in Spain within a week, following the tragic deaths of three children aged one, three, and four in separate incidents in the Costa del Sol and the Canary Islands. The girl from the holiday villa in Pollensa was discovered floating face-down in the pool, prompting her parents to immediately try to save her before authorities took over.
Emergency responders successfully revived the girl at the scene before transporting her to the hospital. Sadly, a one-year-old British toddler from Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands passed away after suffering irreversible neurological damage despite initial resuscitation efforts.
Sebastian Quintana, president of Canarias 1500 Km de Costa, expressed condolences to the family and emphasized the importance of constant supervision of young children near water. Investigations into these incidents are ongoing by the Civil Guard.
In another tragic incident, a four-year-old British girl drowned in a hotel pool in Lanzarote, despite emergency responders’ attempts to save her. Additionally, a three-year-old British boy lost his life after falling into a pool near the Costa del Sol, despite efforts by authorities to rescue him.
The local community expressed deep sorrow and support for the families affected by these heartbreaking events, emphasizing the need for vigilance and safety measures when children are near water.
