The victims, members of the Amarillo Pickleball Club heading to a competition, have not been publicly named by authorities. Eyewitnesses reported hearing unusual sounds from the plane before it went down. Stacey Rohr, a local resident, described feeling the vibrations and compared the crash to a fire behind her property.

A second aircraft from Amarillo, also traveling to the same event, landed safely at New Braunfels airport.
