A significant logistics hub of Wildberries, often referred to as Russia’s Amazon, was obliterated today in a major drone attack carried out in Ukraine. The strike on Ryazan, located 115 miles southeast of Moscow, also set ablaze a critical oil refinery that had already suffered substantial damage from previous assaults.
In addition to these events, drones targeted the strategic port of Taganrog on the Sea of Azov in southern Russia, resulting in the loss of life of a woman. Reports indicated large fires near Kerch, close to the Crimean side of the vital bridge connecting the Black Sea peninsula to Russia.
The offensive by Ukrainian forces occurred shortly after a meeting between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky in the US, where both leaders were seen in a positive interaction. Trump praised the meeting, emphasizing the need for enhanced air defense capabilities for Ukraine.
The Wildberries warehouse, the fifth largest in Russia, was engulfed in thick black smoke with the roof collapsing, prompting an evacuation from the distribution center. This strike marks the 11th attack on Wildberries facilities by Ukraine this month, resulting in substantial destruction and financial losses amounting to billions of pounds. The most recent strike left six individuals injured.
Accusations from Ukraine claim that Wildberries supplies the Russian military, leading the company to urgently seek alternative warehouse locations in neighboring Kazakhstan as its operational model faces jeopardy, risking the loss of numerous supplies.
The escalating conflict between Ukraine and Russia coincided with the US Senate’s approval of stringent sanctions against the Putin regime with a decisive 86 votes in favor.
