Reform UK’s Zia Yusuf made bold statements last night, suggesting a radical approach to push forward a plan similar to Donald Trump’s “deportation force” in Britain.
Yusuf, the party’s spokesperson for home affairs, delivered a speech at the Heritage Foundation in Washington DC, focusing on “Saving Britain and Saving the West.” Additionally, he met with politicians aligned with the MAGA movement during his visit to Congress.
One of Yusuf’s proposals involves deporting a significant number of legal residents in the UK, enforced by a specialized “deportation force” inspired by the stringent immigration units seen in the US under Trump’s administration.
Despite the controversial nature of the plan, Yusuf emphasized that Reform’s deportation squads would be highly skilled and professional. He also mentioned being willing to take drastic steps, including the abolition of the House of Lords, if faced with opposition to the deportation strategy by peers.
During an event, Yusuf stated, “If the House of Lords obstructs, we will remove them. Hopefully, it won’t come to that.” When asked about the potential for civil unrest, he expressed confidence that the party’s plans would not lead to a civil war but anticipated protests and resistance.
Yusuf accused unnamed groups of receiving foreign funding to oppose Reform’s right-wing agenda, even suggesting foreign interference in a local election without providing evidence. This rhetoric echoed Trump’s claims of foreign influence in protests against ICE in Minnesota earlier in the year.
Yusuf remained resolute in advancing the party’s agenda despite expected pushback from activists and media outlets critical of their policies.
