A protester named Henry Nowak, involved in a demonstration in Southampton, refused to appear in court and instead remained in the cells, visibly upset after reportedly throwing a traffic cone at police officers.

Connor Bishop, aged 24, was charged with violent disorder for throwing a traffic cone at police officers during the Southampton protest. Bishop, represented by his lawyer Will Day, entered a guilty plea at Southampton magistrates court as Bishop declined to appear in person.

During the court proceedings, an usher informed the court that Bishop, from Southampton, was emotionally distressed and refused to leave the cells. Bishop, along with two other individuals, faced charges of violent disorder related to the same incident.

Noah Etherington, 18, admitted guilt for throwing a brick at police officers during the protest, while Reece Robinson, 21, also pleaded guilty for throwing objects at law enforcement.

The three individuals were part of a group that engaged in violent actions against police officers during a protest at Southampton Central Police Station. Prosecutor Kevin Lucie described Bishop’s involvement in the incident, highlighting previous assault convictions showing a disregard for law enforcement.

At Portsmouth magistrates’ court, Etherington admitted to his involvement in the violent disorder, with prosecutor Graham Heath mentioning Etherington’s past convictions and actions during the protest.

Robinson, a groundworker from Havant, pleaded guilty at Portsmouth magistrates court for his role in the disorder. The court heard details of his actions during the protest and his lack of prior convictions.

All three defendants were detained in custody, and their cases are scheduled to be heard at Southampton Crown Court by HHJ William Mousley KC.

The court proceedings followed the appearance of other individuals charged in connection with the same protest, including Daniel Frost, who admitted to violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon.

Matt Styler, a military veteran, pleaded not guilty to assaulting an emergency worker during the protest and is currently remanded in custody pending further court appearances.
