Princess Kate introduced a new resource for professionals in early childhood care today at the University of East London. Known for her dedication to the development of young children, Princess Kate established The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood in 2021.

The launch of the Foundations for Life guide is a significant milestone in enhancing the understanding of social and emotional development in young children. Princess Kate inaugurated the guide by engaging with academic researchers, students in early years education, and key figures from universities and colleges nationwide.

Attired in a camel-colored suit and adorned with a necklace featuring the initials of her three children, Princess Kate interacted with families and children at the university. They discussed new research on early childhood and the importance of a reliable network of professionals. Additionally, Princess Kate learned about cutting-edge wearables and brain recording techniques implemented by the university.

In her introduction to the 109-page teaching guide, Princess Kate emphasized the importance of early relationships, experiences, and environments in shaping future health and happiness. She highlighted the significance of connections with oneself, others, and the world in influencing feelings of safety, relationships, and the processing of life experiences.

Developed in collaboration with early childhood specialists and practitioners, the resource underscores how loving, responsive relationships between children and caregivers are pivotal in shaping lifelong health and well-being. The guide seeks to raise awareness in the early childhood development sector about the profound impact of emotional and social growth on children’s futures, starting from the earliest months of life.

Princess Kate’s visit to the University of East London precedes her upcoming official foreign trip to Italy, her first in over three years. She will travel to Reggio Emilia in northern Italy from May 13 to May 14 to advance her work in early childhood through The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. This marks a significant milestone in her royal duties.

The princess’s aides expressed her enthusiasm for resuming international travel and highlighted the visit as a crucial moment in expanding the Center for Early Childhood’s global outreach.
