In the Peak District, a man’s body was discovered at a Bronze Age stone circle during a summer solstice gathering, prompting a murder investigation by the authorities. Derbyshire Police confirmed that the body of a 26-year-old man was found at the Nine Ladies Stone Circle in Stanton Lees, Derbyshire on Monday afternoon. The police are reaching out to individuals who were present at the site between June 19 and 23, urging them to come forward with any information or footage they may have from the event.

Although the victim has not been formally identified, his family has been notified and is receiving support from the authorities. Detective Inspector Tony Owen, leading the investigation from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU), described the incident as a “brutal” taking of a young man’s life. He emphasized the importance of speaking to all attendees of the summer solstice gathering to gather crucial details surrounding the death.

The stone circle, known as the Nine Ladies Stone Circle, is believed to be a depiction of a punishment in early Bronze Age folklore. A dedicated portal for the major incident has been established, and individuals can provide information to the police via 101, quoting reference 26*364216. If you have any relevant information or footage, your assistance could be vital in the ongoing murder investigation.
