An investigation into a homicide is underway following the discovery of a deceased man inside a caravan in Loughborough.
According to Leicestershire Police, they were notified about a “sudden death” incident in a caravan on Derby Road around 11.40 pm on Monday. The East Midlands Ambulance Service responded and confirmed the death of the man, aged in his 40s, at the location.
Authorities mentioned that the man was reportedly involved in a conflict in the days leading up to his demise. A 56-year-old man has been apprehended on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
Ongoing inquiries are being conducted as officers strive to unravel the circumstances surrounding the man’s death. Forensic investigations are being carried out in the vicinity, as reported by Leicestershire Live.
Detective Inspector Mike Chandler, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, stated, “I have a dedicated team of officers working to comprehend the events of this altercation and the sequence of events that culminated in the man’s death.”
He added, “Officers will be present in the Derby Road area in the ensuing days, conducting inquiries and forensic examinations. A cordon will be maintained during these investigations.”
