The Mostyn Champneys retail park in Llandudno saw a flurry of police cars, ambulances, rapid response vehicles, and two air ambulances in response to the incident.
Authorities set up a police cordon outside the McDonald’s restaurant at the location as emergency teams flooded the area. The Welsh Ambulance Service later verified that five casualties were treated on-site and subsequently transported to the hospital.
A spokesperson from the ambulance service stated that they received a call at 10:52 a.m. regarding an incident at the Mostyn Champneys Retail Park in Llandudno. They dispatched a Cymru High Acuity Response Unit, a Duty Operations Manager, and three emergency ambulances to the scene. Advanced critical care support was provided by the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service utilizing two Wales Air Ambulance charity helicopters. The spokesperson confirmed that five patients were taken by road to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.
North Wales Police confirmed that the incident was a “multi-vehicle collision.” They issued an appeal for witnesses following a road traffic collision at Mostyn Champneys in Llandudno on the same day. The collision, which involved multiple pedestrians, occurred shortly after 10:50 a.m. The driver of one of the vehicles and several pedestrians were transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
Authorities urged anyone who witnessed the vehicle prior to the collision or was in the vicinity at the time to come forward.
