Motorsport magnate Paddy McNally, a former partner of Sarah Ferguson, has passed away shortly after the death of his son. McNally, a former race car driver turned successful organizer of corporate events at Formula One races, died at the age of 88 earlier this week.
Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York, dated McNally in the early 1980s before marrying Prince Andrew. Despite their breakup, they remained close, with Ferguson referring to him as a mentor. McNally’s son Sean also tragically passed away in April.
In his final days, McNally provided shelter to Ferguson in his Swiss ski chalet following her departure from the UK in light of the Epstein files’ release, where her connection to the disgraced financier was exposed.
Known for his work with Marlboro and founding the prosperous Allsport company, McNally amassed considerable wealth and a diverse property portfolio. He was born in Kent in 1937 but raised in Ireland. He married Ann in 1967, who passed away in 1980, and later had a relationship with Ferguson.
McNally sold Allsport in 2006 for $350 million and was recognized as one of the wealthiest individuals on the Sunday Times Rich List. The FIA expressed deep sorrow over his passing, highlighting his significant contributions to Formula One’s commercial growth.
Meanwhile, Sarah Ferguson has maintained a low profile since the Epstein scandal, seeking solace in a luxury chalet in the Alps. The fallout from her association with Epstein led to her losing various titles and honors. Her ex-husband Prince Andrew faced repercussions as well.
