Following an extensive search for a missing woman, a deceased body has been discovered in woodland.
Joanna Lewis, aged 59, disappeared from Tonbridge, Kent on April 29. Concern grew among authorities regarding her well-being.
Last seen in the Colts Hill vicinity around 9am, Lewis reportedly headed towards Tudeley woods.
In efforts to locate her, a photo of Joanna was circulated, describing her as 5ft 4in tall, slender, with shoulder-length brown hair.
Tragically, a woman’s remains were found this morning in woodland close to Half Moon Lane.
Kent Police confirmed the discovery, stating that the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. Family members of Ms. Lewis have been notified. Authorities indicated that the death is not suspicious, and a report is being readied for the coroner.
The police force remarked: “In their search for the missing Tonbridge woman, officers have recovered a body. Kent Police responded to woodland in the vicinity of Half Moon Lane on the morning of May 1, 2026, where a woman was declared deceased on-site.
“Relatives of a 59-year-old woman last seen on April 29, 2026, have been informed. The incident is not currently deemed suspicious, and a report will be compiled for the coroner.”
On social media, individuals have expressed sorrow over the tragic development. A Facebook user wrote: “How sad condolences to family and friends.”
